Chrome For OSX Is Great Browser

I love how fast Chromium and Chrome for Mac render web pages. It was kinda boring, I ran across a tip from Grack at http://grack.com/blog/2009/12/08/re-enable-install-button-for-mac-chrome-extensions/ where they provide instructions for re-enabling Chrome Extensions "Install" button.

By George it worked!

I've installed Google Reader, Wave, Hootsuite, Brizzly, Google Voice, Feedly and Google Similar Pages which just totally rocks finding similar pages as the one I'm viewing.

For some reason Flash was crashing last night but today everything has run just fine. Install Chromium or Chrome (Beta), follow the Grack hack (easy) and then install some extensions and https://chrome.google.com/extensions no one will know the difference!

Fundraising Donations Via Text Messages Could Be Delayed Up To 30 Days

It's pretty amazing how much money has been raised for Haiti via Text Messages. It's turned out to be a double edged sword. Apparently some people are forgetting to "confirm" their donation and close their cell phones - the problem is exacerbated by the system being a bit slow.

Remember, donations may be delayed up to 30 days. Makes sense. The phone companies aren't going to front the donations and then hope to collect them later from their customers - especially since it can be $100,000+ and in the case of Red Cross millions of dollars.

Please remember to "confirm" your donation.

Got DNA? Do it Now Attitude

I was reading my friend Phil's post "Find Your Purpose", which was the catalyst for an aha! moment.

Adopting a "Do it Now Attitude" is the single greatest method for living out your purpose. Time is an invention made by man, a man caught up in dream land. Living in the past doesn't last. Dreaming of the future squanders the gift of the present.

Do. Is a word of the present. You cannot do yesterday or tomorrow. The moment of Do is in the Now. It doesn't exist anywhere else but in this very moment, now.

Now is the greatest gift of all. It is the present in the present. Everything that was and ever will be wad created in the now, the present. That conscious small voice in that quiet small place, the creative consciousness and source of anything and everything. Now is an attitude.

Attitude of now recognizes the gift, the "present" in the present, moment. It's an attitude of possibilities, opportunities and grace. It holds an explanation of existence, refinement and favor. Belief that anything is possible if only we adopt a Do it Now Attitude.

Have you adopted a Do it Now Attitude?

10 Tips I Got from Guy Kawasaki at CES

Mr. Kawasaki, Guy is an amazing Tweeple.  He shared some really great tips if you are on Twitter.

1. The Tweetmeme button is the most powerful button the Internet today
2. Make your tweets retweetable, by providing interesting stuff.
3. To find interesting stuff to tweet, subscribe to Smart Brief updates; Stumbleupon categories; and Alltop categories.
4. Get people to help you. Use ghost tweeters (i.e., ghost writers) to do outbound tweeting.
5. Ignore the dogmatists who say Twitter is only about telling people about "me" – he calls it “meforming.”
6. Tweet everything on your blog.
7. Repeat your tweets. According to Guy, “We repeat each tweet 4 times.
8. Be prepared for negative feedback
9. Do not buy followers
10. Should you tweet a sponsored message for money? Guy says, “It depends.
Guy's Slides are here.

Who do you trust with your Real Time data?

Who do you trust with your Real Time data?

Last night I favorited a YouTube video and Google didn't post it until 5 AM the following morning. Pretty disappointing for a company trying to complete with the likes of Twitter and other real time services.

Is it just me or am I getting very impatient? Looks like the game has changed insofar as expectations. Has me wondering whether this impatience transfers to B2B and B2C businesses?

What has been your experience? Do you find yourself being more or less patient?

How do I complete against all the people who are better than myself?

This is a question we all face and my answer was it takes time to build skills and that time is training time. Like an athletes time spent training builds skills that you can use on the next job. A business is built one customer at a time.

Competing is another question. You complete with what you have and continue to build your strengths. Gradually you will become more competitive.

Competition is a state of mind, perception of what others think of you is none of your business.

Seriously, when I think of all the times I was worried about being competitive, the issue was more about my attitude than anything else.

How do you cope with these concerns? How do you deal with the mind game of business?
