I was glad to wake up this morning and realize that what I was dreaming wasn’t real, but a dream.
In my dream I was a “pastor”. (made me laugh too) The entire dream and pastoral role was about settling and compromise. It was horrible, I was doing the same thing over and over again or just having to settle or make do wihbwhat I already had, or was given. Then I had a realization, “There is no freedom in compromise.” As I look back on my life. I was a great example of compromise, settling, getting by, survival and mediocre’ville. No wonder I was depressed! As I have been observing nature while travelling, it just is. There is no compromise in nature. It either is or it isn’t. No grey areas, no second guessing, if you are part of nature either your growing or dying. No middle ground. Yet I seemed to live for the middle ground. To find a compromise, a way to get by. I was defined by compromise. I never really considered that the freedom in nature is our birthright. Somehow, I had developed a mindset of fear and fear is the garden of compromise. Dale Carnegie said “Fear is just a sate of mind.” he also said you “conquer fear by making up your mind to do so.” There is a battle waged for our minds each and everyday. From the choices we make, what we choose to settle for, to the advertisements and political messages we hear – our mind is bombarded with the message of compromise. Do not accept it, make up your mind to reject compromise and only accept freedom. It is your birthright! Just as the battle for compromise begins as a state of mind. So it is with Freedom. You must choose Freedom, as it begins in the mind and today Freedom chooses you. Today I choose the uncompromising example of nature, Freedom! What do you choose this day?
